Dominated by the southern hills of the Luberon, surrounded by beautiful forests, Vaugines is a typically calm Provençal village, with its main square, old buildings and narrow streets. The Capitainerie (a superb Renaissance town house) and the church of Saint-Barthélemy are amongst its main attractions. At the crossroads of a number of main walking circuits (chemins de Grande Randonnée), the village is renowned as an ideal place for visitors who enjoy discovering nature, whether on foot, on a bicycle or on horseback.
