La Tour d'Aigues is an attractive village perched atop a small hill on the banks of the Eze river, in the southern part of the Luberon. Surrounded by vast fields of farmland and vineyards famed for producing excellent wine.

What to see and visit: the eleventh/twelfth-century church of Notre-Dame-de-Roumégas, the chapel of Saint-Christophe (1558) in the castle's grounds; the remains of the Renaissance castle, with its restored cellars which house a museum and various exhibitions. The ruins of the seventeenth century Convent of Tourel; the museum of Faïences: seventeenth and eighteenth century faïences, a collection of oil jars from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The castle's cellars show a history of the valley, from the Neolithic era to the present.
