A strategically important town during the Middle Ages, Reillanne was substantially fortified and was dominated by its castle. Nowadays, one of the castle’s towers is still standing whilst the chapel of Saint-Denis was rebuilt in 1858 ; there are also remains of the old fortifications and of the rampart’s gates, which date back to the twelfth and thirteenth centuries.
