During the Middle Ages, the village, located on a very busy thoroughfare, was a prosperous town with over one thousand inhabitants - a rarity in those days. Beaumont used to be protected by ramparts, and you can still see a great many remains of those fortifications. The site of the chapel of Sainte-Croix (524m above sea level) affords superb views over the Montagne from Lure, as well as over the Durance and Luberon valleys.
Do not miss the village symbols, the statue and grotto of Saint-Eucher into which a chapel has been built. At the crossroads of four departments (Vaucluse, Alpes from Haute Provence, Var and Bouches du Rhône), Beaumont from Pertuis is set in the Luberon Regional Nature Park.
